1. Opening Statements

NSW Negotiations Rounds
Teams in pairs of two must come to a diplomatic resolution with another versing team. The aim is to be proactive, and establish an interest-based negotiation stance. This sees collaboration by establishing clear positions to ensure either party works toward satisfying their goals when proposing solutions.
There will be multiple preliminary rounds for the NSW Negotiations Competition. It is expected you make sure you are online 15 to 30 minutes before the listed start time. Each Negotiations round runs for approximately 2 hour including breaks.
Participants need to attend preliminary round 1 and preliminary round 2. Please note that rounds with insufficient registrations may be cancelled. Alternatively if rounds are sufficiently filled, registration will close 2 weeks prior to the round’s date.
You may select 2 ordered preferences from the following rounds when they are listed:
- Round 1 times will be announced next year.
- Round 2 times will be announced next year.
Successful participants will progress to a Finals round held mid-late 2026. Finals rounds will be held in person.
