National Conference
"Australia's annual premiere youth conference"

The UN Youth Australia National Conference is a week-long residential program, bringing together students from across Australia and New Zealand to engage in discussions on global affairs.
Through thought-provoking workshops, hearing from expert speakers, Model UN debates, crisis simulations, social activities, and more, participants explore complex international issues that extend beyond the traditional school curriculum. The conference fosters critical thinking, leadership, and developing lifelong friendships with like-minded young leaders.
National Conference is held in a different Australian capital city annually. In 2026, the event will take place in Perth, Western Australia, from Wednesday, 8 July, to Tuesday, 14 July.
2026 THEME
Biodiversity
The conference focuses on Biodiversity as a priority for the international community in the 21st Century.
The actions of one state can affect the ecosystem of an entire continant. The United Nations refers to Biodiversity as ‘the strongest natural defence against climate change’. Nature supports over half of global GDP, and over a 1 billion people are dependant on forests for their livelihoods. More than half of global carbon is absorbed by oceans and land.
As Australia and the rest of the world faces the effects of climate change, agreements on maintaining biodiversity are critical.
Delegates will explore the world of biodiversity through a global lens, investigating topics such as:
1. Urban Areas and Ecosystems coexisting
2. Preventing Species Extinction
3. Genetically-Modified Organisms
4. Enviromental Justice
