Utilising the SDGs to support young Australians in trade
UN Youth Australia and BBM Youth Support (BBM) are proud to announce the launch of a new partnership assisting BBM Scholars to learn and grow aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
BBM Scholarships support young people in agriculture, trades and horticulture to become practical, holistic leaders of the future who are aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. A BBM Scholarship is an opportunity for young people in vocational careers to define their purpose and impact on their community and industry through mentoring, coaching, networking, work experience and immersion in the UNSDG framework.
UN Youth Australia joins BBM in curating and delivering an educational experience to these young Australians, focusing on how leveraging the knowledge and power of the Sustainable Development Goals can assist these young scholars in their development and action in improving sustainability in their trade and communities.
UN Youth Australia is thrilled to be working with BBM to assist their scholars in learning about the UN Sustainable Development Goals over the course of their scholarship. UN Youth is committed to supporting young people to engage with global issues and to realise their potential as decision-makers within their communities. This collaboration with BBM is particularly exciting for how it encourages the scholars to reflect over the course of the scholarship on how they will make tangible steps to advance the SDGs in their industries throughout their careers.

In 2020, BBM refocused its vision and purpose on creating a sustainable, significant Australia by supporting young people to become practical, holistic leaders of the future who are aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. One year later, we are entering a partnership with UN Youth Australia to support our scholars in learning about the UN SDG framework and how they as individuals and as BBM scholars can contribute to advancing the SDGs.
BBM enters this partnership with great enthusiasm. Working with UN Youth Australia opens up the opportunity for us to expose our scholars to a movement for purpose and empower young people to support and lead each other before pursuing leadership roles in their industries and community. It creates a space where young people can learn from and with each other and work together to create a better future.
At a time when global travel is not available to our current scholars UN Youth Australia adds a critical global perspective on the choices and decisions we make in Australia.
