The Board of UN Youth Australia · Divisional Representative Director
After attending the UN Youth Queensland State Conference as a Year 11 student in 2012, Roslyn became hooked on all things UN, UN Youth and international relations. She attended every UN Youth event that she could, read books on foreign affairs and spent her free time trying to convince her friends to do Evatt.
Despite this newfound interest Roslyn had always planned on fulfilling her irrational lifelong passion for rocks and numbers by enrolling in a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Mathematics. However, a last-minute switch of QTAC preferences saw her begin university somehow also enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations; four years later that same change saw her end her university studies enrolled in a Master of Laws in International Law.
Roslyn is an avid volunteer firefighter, rock collector and language learner. She is the current 4th Officer of the Currumbin Valley Rural Fire brigade, a previous President of the University of Queensland Geosciences Society and is presently topping the Emerald Leader Board on Duolingo for Japanese. She has completed short term exchanges to Scotland to look at Scottish rocks, to the Tibet to look at Tibetan rocks and to Germany to look at German books about the European Union.
Within UN Youth Roslyn has held the positions of School Ambassador’s Program Coordinator, Queensland Education Director, Evatt Organising Committee Member and National Education Committee Member. Now as a Divisional Representative Board Director Roslyn sits on both the Finance and Audit and the Ethics Committees.
