National · Chief Human Resources Officer
Jem has been volunteering with UN Youth Australia for just over a year but has been involved in events as a delegate since 2016 and have loved seeing the organisation from a whole new perspective through the National Executive. Over this year, she is hoping to implement a large overhaul of our current misconduct processes, improve support systems for our volunteers, improve our current training modules and implement a womxn’s and POC officer. Even though this is a lot of work to get done, she is super keen to make this organisation better for all the volunteers.
Outside of the UN Youth, Jem is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne majoring in Asian Studies and Politics and International Studies with focuses on Public Policy and Chinese Language. While this takes up a lot of time she also work as a public speaking and debating trainer and adjudicator, alongside working for a tech company in office management and culture.
Jem also loves backpacking and have spent a significant amount of time in Mexico and Papua New Guinea, which has fuelled a love of scuba diving and is now currently working towards becoming a dive master. During her weekends off Jem love seeing friends, going to music festivals and finding hidden gems in Melbourne.
