Jem Smith
The Board of UN Youth Australia · Governance Committee Chair
Jem has been volunteering with UN Youth Australia since 2019 but has been involved in events as a delegate since 2016. She was the Chief Human Resources Officer for 2020, and now as a Board Director, she is keen to continue working on making the organisation the best it can be for our volunteers.
Outside of the UN Youth, Jem is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne majoring in Asian Studies and Politics and International Studies with focuses on Public Policy and Chinese Language. She also works as a public speaking and debating trainer and adjudicator, alongside working in office management and culture.
Jem also loves solo backpacking and has spent a significant amount of time in Mexico and Papua New Guinea, which has fuelled a love of scuba diving and is now currently working towards becoming a divemaster. During her weekends Jem loves seeing friends, going to live gigs, and enjoying Melbournes art scene.
