Benjamin Fisk

National · Chief Financial Officer

As the CFO, Ben’s primarily responsible for the management of the UN Youth’s finances. His role involves the preparation of monthly management reports for review by Finance & Audit Committee; oversight and development of National Finance Committee; preparation and ongoing review of the National Operating Budget; and assisting Chief Domestic Operations (CDO) Officer, Chief International Operations Officer (CIO) and convenors with budgeting.

Ben is external to UN Youth with no prior experience within the organisation. He decided to join the National Executive and get involved within UN Youth because of what the organisation is trying to achieve and what it has achieved in the past; the opportunities and challenges the CFO role creates; and he enjoys being involved in any extracurricular activities/organisations. Prior to being CFO Ben has gained experience within organisations and finance experience through his studies; internships; and his involvement within his university student council and other extracurricular activities.

Ben’s main goal for 2021 in his capacity as CFO is to ensure financial stability as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause instability throughout the world, heavily impacting the financials of the UN Youth. He also wants to continue and build on the work his predecessor began as well as reviewing and improving the organisations systems and controls where necessary.

Ben is in his third and final year studying a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accounting and finance at Bond University. Outside of UN Youth Ben enjoys being involved in Rugby Union predominantly as a referee but also enjoys being on the sideline and supporting.
