Treasurer

UN Youth Western Australia is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as Treasurer. This is an exciting volunteer opportunity to play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our organisation and contributing to our strategic direction. This is a director’s position on the governing body of UN Youth WA. 

As a youth organisation, this role is only open to people aged 25 or under. Applications are open to those who reside within and outside of WA.

As Treasurer, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial health of the organisation, monitoring payments, writing and enforcing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations through accurate reporting. You will regularly use Xero, Stripe & online banking to invoice delegates and schools and to reimburse facilitators, while keeping accurate records of the division’s payments and responding to any queries regarding payments.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate core competencies such as maintaining up-to-date financial records and preparing financial information for WA executive meetings, assisting other directors and convenors with budgeting and financial compliance, working collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating leadership and initiative, and having the ability to work to deadlines. Supporting and executing strategic direction, as well as communicating effectively and with clarity, are also essential.

Time Commitment:

  • Approximately 3 hours per week of finance-related work.
  • Attendance at WA Executive meetings fortnightly, approximately 2 hours, usually on Tuesday evenings.
