UN Youth Queensland Inc. is the Queensland division of UN Youth Australia, a national youth-led organisation that aims to educate and empower young Australians on global issues facing the world. Our broad range of sector-leading peer-education programs educate over 15,000 young Australians each year from across every state and territory. UN Youth Queensland is looking for a new ‘Queensland HR Director’ to join its team in 2021.

The Queensland HR Director is is responsible for making sure that members and volunteers feel welcomed and valued in our organisation. Their role is to attract and retain new and old members and protect their wellbeing. Particular responsibilities include coordinating facilitator induction days, training days, first aid training, and formal social occasions. The Human Resources Director is also the division’s Welfare Supervisor, whose job it is to create a safe environment for members and delegates by ensuring compliance with the Welfare Policy – including approving risk management plans, appointing Welfare Officers, stocking the first aid kit, and being the officer responsible for investigating suspected breaches of the Policy and reporting on them to the Executive.

No prior experience with UN Youth, or knowledge of the United Nations, is required. Applicants must be under 25 years of age.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to build their administrative experience, and work in a safe environment designed for young people. This position is ideal for students looking to have a go at managing their own human resources portfolio while they are still studying. All necessary training will be provided. Any costs incurred in your duty as a volunteer will be reimbursed.

The time commitment is 10-15 hours a week. This role is very manageable around study and work commitments.
