Queensland Education Director
Closes: 27 November
UN Youth Queensland Inc. is the Queensland division of UN Youth Australia, a national youth-led organisation that aims to educate and empower young Australians on global issues facing the world. Our broad range of sector-leading peer-education programs educate over 15,000 young Australians each year from across every state and territory. UN Youth Queensland is looking for a new ‘Queensland Education Director’ to join its team in 2021.
The Queensland Education Director is tasked with directing all of our school programs, and providing support to convenors in developing the content/itineraries for their programs. They are supported by the National Education Committee and National Content Committee, and by a broader Education team made up of other volunteers and content creators.
The Education Director is also typically involved in innovating and nurturing new and emerging programs – ensuring that UN Youth Queensland continues to deliver the high level of educational content expected of us. They are also encouraged to reach out to schools and teachers directly, in search of potential school visits and future collaborations.
No prior experience with UN Youth, or knowledge of the United Nations, is required. Applicants must be under 25 years of age.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to build their administrative experience, and work in a safe environment designed for young people. This is an ideal position for an Education student looking to build experience while still studying. All necessary training will be provided. Any costs incurred in your duty as a volunteer will be reimbursed.
The time commitment is 10-15 hours a week. This role is very manageable around study and work commitments.
