Welcome to Voice WA

Voice is a unique public speaking competition for students in Year 7-10. Voice invites you to solve issues that affect your community, nation, and the world. From homelessness to climate change, we want to hear you pitch your big ideas.

What is Voice?

Voice asks students to present pitches of their innovative solutions to real-world problems. Students develop skills in problem solving and creativity while learning about international issues.

Who can sign up?

The competition is open to all students from Years 7 through 10. Years 7-8 compete in the junior division, and 9-10 in the senior. New students are encouraged to sign up!

When does the competition run?

The competition runs its preliminary metropolitan rounds from the 19th to the 31st of October. Rounds only last for 3 hours – so you don’t need your entire day free! The top 10 competitors from each division will then progress to the State Finals Competition in mid-November.

Regional Rounds cost $20 and Metropolitan Rounds cost $30.

Where can I get more info?

We will be holding a workshop night in mid-October where the rules and procedure will be explained to students. There’s also a delegate handbook attached that has some more information.

I have more questions, who can I contact?

All enquiries can be sent to the Convenor, Midaiah Harnett. She is contactable by email at midaiah.harnett@unyouth.org.au
