How Voice Works

There are three stages to Voice SA:

Students will compete in one Preliminary Round, which consists of two components:

1) The Pitch (Prepared)

You’ll deliver a prepared presentation on your chosen topic. You will outline the issue you’ve chosen, why it’s important to you, and ‘pitch’ your solution: what you think we can do to solve the problem.

We’re looking for interesting, innovative solutions that are explained persuasively and passionately.

The Pitch will be 4 minutes for Juniors (Years 7/8) and 5 minutes for Seniors (Years 9/10)

2) Questions (Impromptu)

Following your speech, the Judging Panel will ask you two questions about your speech. You will provide an answer between 30-60 seconds for each question.

The most outstanding students from each round will be invited to attend the State Final.

The top students from each division will be invited to compete in the Voice National Finals, which for 2017 Voice delegates was in Brisbane in April, 2018!
