State Conference is a weekend-long residential conference, open to all students in Years 9 to 12. Run entirely by young people for young people, this weekend is an incredible opportunity for you to meet other passionate young people, to have your voice heard in discussions on the issues most important to you, and to learn about leadership, diplomacy, and advocacy. You’ll become friends with people from all around WA, and become inspired to make change in your local community and the world.
Building Sustainable Futures
State Conference 2018 is themed ‘Building Sustainable Futures’. Over the course of the weekend, you will explore what it means to be sustainable, how people, organisations, and governments approach sustainability, and what you can do to contribute towards a sustainable future.
During the conference, you will take part in workshops on the UN, pressing issues such as climate change and environmental justice, health, and politics, and learn about environmental sustainability around the world. You will represent a country in Model UN debates, listen to and question expert guest speakers, participate in interactive problem solving simulations, and have your voice heard in discussions on the educational, legal, social, international, and political issues most important to you.
