Welcome to UN Youth Western Australia’s 2017 State Conference!
State Conference is a weekend-long conference that is open to all students in Years 10 to 12. Run entirely by young people for young people, this weekend is an incredible opportunity for students from all corners of WA to meet other passionate and like-minded people, and to also have their voice heard in discussions on the issues most important to them.
State Conference 2017 is themed ‘Emerging Threats to Global Health in the 21st Century’, and will be focused around global health initiatives produced by agencies such as the World Health Organisation, emerging and re-emerging communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as the effects of climate change and human rights violations on population health.
During the conference, students take part in workshops on the UN and global issues, represent a country in model UN debates, listen to and question expert panelists, participate in interactive problem solving simulations, and have their voice heard in discussions on the educational, legal, social, international and political issues most important to them.
UN Youth WA Inc.’s State Conference 2016 will take place on March 17th to 19th at the University of Western Australia and Camp Cooloongup in Baldivis, and is open to all Western Australian students in years 10-12. The registration cost will be $150.
