UN Youth’s National Conference brings together over 100 exceptional young people from across Australia and the Asia-Pacific to discuss a diverse range of international and local issues.
What can I expect from the program?
From July 4 to 7, students will learn from experts in international relations, participate in interactive workshops, and debate questions of global importance. The Conference aims to create a generation of young Australians who are informed and passionate about the world around them through education, engagement with national leaders, and peer mentorship.
What will I gain from participation?
+ Learn about diplomacy and global challenges in the 21st century
+ Develop skills in public speaking, negotiation and critical thinking
+ Meet like-minded peers in a friendly, social environment
Where will National Conference be held?
National Conference 2021 will run as a hybrid event. This means that the Victorian delegation will gather in Melbourne during each day of the conference. They will then participate in activities with students from around the country.
Who is National Conference for?
Applications are open to all students in Year 10 to 12. No prior experience with UN Youth events, or in debating/public speaking, is necessary.
How do I apply?
APPLY HERE to be one of ten delegates selected to represent Victoria at the conference. Applications close at 11:59pm on Saturday 8 May – no applications will be accepted after this date.
The second stage of the application process is a Zoom interview with some of the facilitators leading the delegation. Due to the large number of applicants each year, however, we don’t have the ability to interview everyone so will be shortlisting applications. So please take the time to answer these questions to the best of your ability!
