Conference Information

The UN Youth National Conference brings together over 100 exceptional young people from across Australia and the Asia-Pacific to discuss a diverse range of international and local issues.

Throughout the week long conference, students will learn from experts in international relations, participate in interactive workshops and formally debate questions of global importance.

The Conference aims to create a generation of young Australians who are informed and passionate about the world around them through education, engagement with national leaders, and peer mentorship. The Conference includes students from every state and territory, as well from New Zealand and across the Asia-Pacific.

National Conference is held each year in July in a different Australian capital city, run entirely by UN Youth volunteers from that city. In 2017, the Conference will be held in Perth

More information can be found on the National Conference page.

Important Information

Applications close 11:59pm Friday 24th March.

Conference Dates: July 5-11

Who Can Apply: Victorian students in Year 10 – 12. While we encourage students asking for assistance formulating ideas, please ensure that all applications are written by the student.

How To Apply

Applications are now open for any Victorian high school student in Years 10 – 12 interested in attending the 2017 National Conference in Perth.

Ten delegates will be selected to attend the Conference from each state or territory. The delegates will be selected based on their written application, followed by a short interview for those that make the shortlist.

We encourage every passionate Victorian student to apply, regardless of location, background, or prior experience with similar events. National Conference is about discussing a diverse range of issues, so we look forward to hearing from a diverse range of potential delegates.

The application process is about finding out who each student is, what they are passionate about, and how they will interact with other delegates. We welcome students asking for advice from parents, teachers, or other support staff, but discourage applications that were written, even in part, by anyone other than the student. We want to get to know you the type of person that you are, not anyone else!
