About The Tour

Next January, we’ll be taking 16 young leaders from across Australia on a four-week tour of the United States of America to explore the current state of American politics.

We will help unpack and understand the intricacies of American politics through briefly looking into history and exploring the places, people, and forces that have shaped America as we know it. In each state, we will visit monuments, museums, and memorials to better understand how notable events in American history have led us to where we are now.

We will meet with politicians, diplomats, think-tanks, NGOs, and activists who are all currently interacting in a tumultuous time in American history. As well as attending consultations, we will be running a series of interactive, educational workshops designed by UN Youth Australia that will aid in your understanding.

The tour will take place from approximately end of December 2019 to late January 2020 (dates TBA at the open of applications).
